VirtualBox on MacOS Ventura - AMD64 Architecture

Post by Soleach »

Trying to install VirtualBox on my new MAC (maxOS Ventura 13.0.1) I got the following message : "The installer has detected an unsupported architecture. VirtualBox only runs on the amd64 architecture"...
Is there a solution to use VirtualBox properly?
Thank you , Soleach

Are you sure that's not ARM, instead of AMD? FWIW Apple never used AMD processors, only Intel.

If this is an M1/M2 Mac, please see the M1/M2 sticky on the Mac Hosts. There is a Technical Preview Beta version of Virtualbox for M1/M2, but it does not run modern OS's, only really old small OS's.

FWIW, AMD64 is another name of the x86-64 architecture of Intel and AMD CPUs.
