Upgrade to Ventura/VB 7.02 - ubuntu 22.04 failing
Upgrade to Ventura/VB 7.02 - ubuntu 22.04 failing
I upgraded my Intel Mac Air to Ventura and then upgraded the VB to 7.02. The Windows 10 and Centos 7 guests work fine. The ubuntu 22.04 fails to start with NS_ERROR_FAILURE(0x80004005). Reboots were performed between installs, etc. Planning on adjusting settings to see if I can get it restarted but suggestions are welcome / appreciated since 7.02 does not use the kernel extensions, etc.

Ventura is not a supported host OS yet. https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch01. ... tossupportStephenJ wrote:I upgraded my Intel Mac Air to Ventura
There'll be a lot more to that error message, and we'd need to know it to have a chance to possibly help.StephenJ wrote:NS_ERROR_FAILURE(0x80004005)
Re: Upgrade to Ventura/VB 7.02 - ubuntu 22.04 failing
I tried re-importing from a machine export I made with 6.1.40 last week and that failed as well - so it appears there is something in the definition/function of ubuntu 22.04 that is preventing it from starting. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Re: Upgrade to Ventura/VB 7.02 - ubuntu 22.04 failing
I had the same problem with Ubuntu 20.04 after upgrading to Ventura. My Win 10 guest would run fine, but the Ubuntu 20.04 guest would not.
I disabled the network adapters in Settings for the Ubuntu instance. Restarted the VM, and Ubuntu powered up without any problems. I then went back and reset the Settings for the network adapters, restarted Ubuntu, and everything worked fine. In my case, Adapter 1 is in Bridge Mode, and Adapter 2 is in NAT.

Re: Upgrade to Ventura/VB 7.02 - ubuntu 22.04 failing
After taking the suggestions, I disabled the networking and set the video to VMSVGA - MAGIC - it started up and is functional.
So while Ventura may not be supported, my Win10 (fully patched), Centos 7, and Ubuntu 22.04 are all functional - Thank you for the suggestions!
