Installing Mac OS
Installing Mac OS
I have Virtualbox installed on my MBP 14"and want to install OS X Yosemite on it to run some legacy software, but I am completely lost. If someone were willing to walk me through it on the phone or in text, I'd be grateful and would even make it worth your while.

Re: Installing Mac OS
Thank you, I will look this over thoroughly.
I recently was told that it is impossible to run an Intel app on an M1 Max chip even in a VM. I have an M1 Max 14" MBP, so I suspect none of this may work. Do you know anything about that?
Thanks again!

Re: Installing Mac OS
That is correct. There is no "even" regarding a VM. The things that makes a VM different from a simulator are (a) guest code runs directly on the host CPU, and because of this (b) guest code runs a zillion times faster than it will in a simulator.BaruchZed wrote: I recently was told that it is impossible to run an Intel app on an M1 Max chip even in a VM.
Obviously (a) can't happen if it's the wrong CPU.
