Hello,
I'm running the latest virtualbox on a MacBook with a Windows XP and Ubuntu host. I also have Parallels installed just to run a copy of windows XP. Unfortunately I didn't know about virtualbox when I first was looking for a VM solution. I am very happy with virtualbox and even prefer it over Parallels but there is one issue that keeps me from uninstalling parallels and using virtualbox full time.
Ripping DVDs to the HD doesn't work so well in virtualbox and I'm not sure if it's a limitation of the software or if it's my setup that is causing the issue. When I use DVDfab HD Decrypter under parallels I always get a steady 2.5x - 3.0x ripping speed. When I do the exact same scenario with virtualbox the ripping speed never even reached 1.0x it always hovers around .6x - .8x. Many times the rips will also fail before finished when parallels has no issue with said DVD.
Is there any trick I can try to make this work better in virtualbox?
Thanks in advance,
Kye
