Cannot launch/install/import virtual machines

Post by Vendrel »

Hello!

After updating VirtualBox, the application still runs flawless until I try to start a formerly functional virtual machine (Windows XP). Or install (a Windows 3.11, just for nostalgia). Or import an OVA file as I did it many times.
Here could come three screenshots, but as a new user, I must submit this post without links first, to get eligible to include links. Screenshots are in the first reply.

I uninstalled the application using its own tool, then reinstalled. No change.
Then uninstalled again and installed a 6.0.24, no change.

Any clue how to make it working again? :) Thank you.

Attach images locally, and please provide a VM log file. Make sure the VM is fully shut down, then right click it in the manager UI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

But first take a look at: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=104589.

Thank you very much. The description is promising. Unfortunately, I suddenly had to bring my computer to the service for two weeks so I can try to extract log files and fix the problem based on the description only after it comes home. On my secondary Mac (running Catalina, not Monterey), I don't experience any problem, didn't make the software update though but rather wait with it.

Local image upload function found, thank you.

Btw, if you have word in the development, the error message could contain the link your provided to me above, as a "possible solution", for example.

Best, till then!
