W10 on VBox 6.132 with Extensions 6.132 installed.
Host is 2018 MacMini running Big Sur, host sharing on.
I added a shared folder in VBox Settings/Shared folders - full access/auto mount/permanent.
It's on an external drive mounted on the MacMini.
I put an .exe app in that folder. But I can't seem to get to the Shared folder.
Read the User guide and can't figure out my mistake.
Please help.

Re: can't access .exe in shared folder
re-read and figured it out.
Once W10 is launched, there appears a larger menu bar for V Box.
On that menu bar is Devices. Select "Insert Guest additions CD image".
Then click on File Explorer icon on the bottom center of the W10 screen.
Click "This PC" on the left.
You see Guest additions CD image on the right. Double click to install.
After you will see VBOXSVR on left of the File Explorer.
Click VBOXSVR.
Click VBOXSVR/windows:VirtualBox
and there you are. Your shared folder that you previously set up.
Guest additions also allows for dynamic resizing of the "display".
Though it does not do so smoothly, but it will settle after a few seconds.

Re: can't access .exe in shared folder
Glad you kept up the hunt and found a solution!
Yes, Virtualbox Shared Folders requires Guest Additions in the VM.
