Hi all,
I have been using Virtualbox for many years and never had any issues up until now.
My setup:
MacBook Pro 15" 2019
16GB RAM
i9 8 core
Virtualbox Version 6.1.32 r149290 (Qt5.6.3)
Guest:
Windows 10_21H1 (clean install)
2GB RAM
2Cores
100GB hdd
VBOX SVGA 128MB
Guest additions installed
My issue:
I cannot get the screen resolution and graphics performance correct at the same time.
Either the resolution is 3360X2052 (incredibly small on my screen), but graphic performance is good. Or I set the virtual screen to 200%, this sets the resolution in the guest to 1680x1026. But then graphic performance gets sluggish, and everything looks a little pixelated.
No matter what I try to to set in Virtualbox, I cannot find the correct settings. I never had this issue before up until now. I memory serves me right it was all ok in macOS Big Sur.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Screen resolution settings
For slow VMs on a Retina Mac, try running Virtualbox in low resolution:

1. Navigate to Apps folder. Choose VirtualBox.app
2. Right click on VirtualBox.app, Show Package Contents.
3. Contents -> Resources -> VirtualBoxVM.app (right click -> Get info)
4. Check the "Open in Low Resolution" checkbox.
5. Run the Virtual Machine in 100% scale mode.

Re: Screen resolution settings
Hi, yes that is one of the things I changed/tested. But this makes even Virtualbox itself look a little fuzzy. By Fuzzy I mean the text in the menubar.
