NS_Error_Failure OS X 10.9.5

Post by jonathanovision »

Hello,

I've put myself in the deep end....I've been a Windows Hyper V user for a long time, now I'm trying Virtualbox on a mac...What have I done.

I'm trying to get this machine running
home-assistant.io/installation/macos/

I've downloaded and installed virtual box on to MAC OS X 10.9.5.
The machine is a linux "other 64 bit", and EFI is enabled with the network in bridged mode.

When trying to start the machine I get this error
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine HomeAssistant.

The virtual machine 'HomeAssistant' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1 (0x1).

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: MachineWrap
Interface: IMachine {85632c68-b5bb-4316-a900-5eb28d3413df}
I'm not sure what else I can offer up, but please let me know if there is more information I can offer.

It is set to allow apps downloaded from anywhere. Did an uninstall then a reinstall watching for any prompts, but have the same results.
