I'm getting a BSOD on my Windows 7 guest after upgrading my Macbook pro to Monterey 12.1.
I got the same BSODs when I originally upgraded to Monterey 12.0.1 from Big Sur, but uninstalling and reinstalling VirtualBox (combined with a few reboots) solved that. No joy this time.
As a test, I tried making a brand new virtual machine and installing with the Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft, just clicking through the guided mode and accepting all the defaults. The Windows 10 installer fails. There are two cycles of 'resetting your device' error messages, followed by a screen with a strange green checkerboard pattern. (There's an image of the same pattern on an askubuntu question which I can't post a link to because this is my first Virtualbox forum post)
I attach the log file from the aborted Windows 10 installation on the basis that it is more 'vanilla' than my very ancient Windows 7 VM.
I should probably mention that I currently have System Integrity Protection disabled because I tried to install the latest development snapshot to see if that helped (it didn't). I've run the uninstallation script, rebooted, and installed 6.1.30 for the purposes of this post.

Re: Windows guests not working after upgrade to Monterey 12.1
The Windows 10 VM started from the ISO image all three times, and both BSODs have a primary/secondary error code of WINLOGON_FATAL_ERROR/STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_HASH (0xc000021a, 0xc0000428). I appreciate that you tried to support the diagnosis by creating a new clean VM, but I'd like you to provide a (zipped) VBox.log file from the original Windows 7 VM nonetheless, so that we can check if the BSODs are similar.Win10-2021-12-21-12-47-41.log file wrote:00:00:23.247634 GIM: HyperV: Guest indicates a fatal condition! After writing the statements above, I remembered the number one cause for the green checkered screen again: Do you have Intel Power Gadget installed?
Re: Windows guests not working after upgrade to Monterey 12.1
Yes, I did have the Intel Power Gadget installed.
Uninstalling Intel Power Gadget and rebooting has done the trick, both for the Windows 7 VM and the Win10 installation.
Thanks for the assistance.
