I installed VB 6.1.30. The Host OS is Mac OS 11.6.2 Big Sur. I set up a virtual machine for the guest OS Linux. I have a Linux OS installation disk Image in ISO format (linuxmint-20.2-cinnamon-64bit.iso) downloaded from linuxmint dot com.
Now in chapter 1.8.1 of the user manual it says: "When a VM is started for the first time, the First Start Wizard, is displayed.". This doesn't happen here, I get the error message:
Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)
Make sure the kernel module has been loaded successfully.
where: suplibOsInit what: 3 VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED (-1908) - The support driver is not installed. On linux, open returned ENOENT.
and
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Linux Mint Cinnamon 1.
The virtual machine 'Linux Mint Cinnamon 1' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1 (0x1).
Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: MachineWrap
Interface: IMachine {85632c68-b5bb-4316-a900-5eb28d3413df}
My question: how can I install the guest OS from this disk image?
Many Thanx!
Best regards
Keksi

Not a generic "Using VirtualBox" question. Topic moved to "Mac OS hosts" forum.
