VB 6.1.28 on OS 10.15

Post by Mykhailo »

iMac late 2012 - any help is appreciated.

Bringing machine 'default' up with 'virtualbox' provider...
==> default: Checking if box 'jasonc/centos8' version '1.0.2' is up to date...
==> default: Clearing any previously set forwarded ports...
==> default: Clearing any previously set network interfaces...
==> default: Preparing network interfaces based on configuration...
default: Adapter 1: nat
==> default: Forwarding ports...
default: 22 (guest) => 2222 (host) (adapter 1)
==> default: Booting VM...
There was an error while executing `VBoxManage`, a CLI used by Vagrant
for controlling VirtualBox. The command and stderr is shown below.

Command: ["startvm", "088689a0-a070-4d77-96f0-ebeceb977166", "--type", "headless"]

Stderr: VBoxManage: error: The virtual machine 'myfirstvm_default_1635950335668_47770' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1 (0x1)
VBoxManage: error: Details: code NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005), component MachineWrap, interface IMachine

For whatever reason, the install was just not happening cleanly - go figure, this is a bone stock iMac I inherited from my dad when he upgraded, I need to have a use for it, and self teaching seems to be a good fit.

The end fix was leaving all alone as it installed, and removing the guest from VB (unresponsive/corrupt), and reinitializing - that after removing EVERYTHING that had to do with VBox and starting over.
