More Guru Meditation on High Sierra

My guest installation of Windows 8.1, hosted on MacOS High Sierra, threw up a critical error (logs attached). Subsequent tries brought up "Preparing Automatic Repair", then a BSOD with a message that "the kernel is missing or contains errors", followed by the path of a kernel extension and error code 0xc000007b. I've tried rebooting from the original installation DVD (this is on a MacBook Pro 2011), but the virtual Windows won't read it. Suggestions welcome.
