Host-Only network disappears after booting BootCamp

Post by Jackie_M »

Setup: macOS Host running Big Sur, Bootcamp Windows 10 21H1, VirtualBox 6.1.26 r145957 (Qt5.6.3), MacBook Pro Late 2013 with 16GB of RAM. Intending on running this on my Trashcan MP. I use a host-only network to do some odd things (mainly ssh forwarding into the machine to connect to RDP running on the guest), as bridged networking fails on the 802.1x WiFi here at work. I set up a host-only network as a second NIC, and it works just fine.

When I restart and use BootCamp, then reboot back into BigSur, the host-only network goes away in VirtualBox (all VMs think they have it, but can't find vboxnet0). The Host Network Manager doesn't show it either. I can re-create it, and the VMs find it just fine.

Does anyone know if this behavior is a bug, something the needs a workaround, or is this is fixable?
