Is there a procedure to have a Mac VM access the Internet through the Mac host?
Is this even possible? I’m guessing that it isn’t given the paucity of information about it.

Definitely. The VM is just another machine in your network. My preferred setup is to use bridged networking in the VirtualBox network settings and let the DHCP server on my lan assign the address. There are a number of network setups which are all pretty well explained in Section 6 of the VirtualBox manual.

That would be a bad guess. There are a lot of topics NOT covered on these forums because they're unaffected by running in a VM.JL1 wrote:I’m guessing that it isn’t given the paucity of information about it.
There is plenty of coverage in the user manual and in the howto section here of the various networking modes provided by VirtualBox. Go have a look. Pay particular attention to Bridged Networking mode as Granada indicated: this makes your VM a full participant on the host network, but works best on a LAN connection.
