Acceleration Issue on 32bit VMs on iMac 2021 M1 + VirtualBox 6.1

Hi everyone:

If I choose to create a 32 bit virtual machine, I also run into problems under Systems> Acceleration (@see screenshots).

I don't see how to fix it.

Any idea?

Thanks a lot.

Greetings

You are mistaken I think.

The "Systems Acceleration" virtualization setting you refer to is called (in English) "NESTED virtualization", and is not required by any VM type.

VirtualBox 6.1.x no longer has an option to run without hardware virtualization (VT-x/AMD-v), which is why you will not find such an option in the settings.

But in any case that is not your real problem.

YOUR REAL PROBLEM IS THAT VIRTUALBOX CANNOT RUN VMs ON M1 MACS.

VirtualBox is an x86 hypervisor (a virtualization supervisor), it is not a CPU simulator. VirtualBox can't run if you don't have an x86 CPU to supervise. The M1 is an ARM core processor, just like the iPhone or iPad (which also can't run VirtualBox). The symptoms you see are a result of an unexpected scenario (attempting to run VirtualBox on entirely the wrong processor - it only got as far as it did because Rosetta made the front end application seem to run).

See the two sticky "ARM based MACs" topics at the top of this forum.

p.s. I deleted your second post on the same subject. Cross posting is against the forum rules.
