type: Linux
OS: Debian 64-bit
Memory Size: 2048
Hard disk: Create a virtual hard disk now
Hard disk file type: VDI
Storage: Dynamically allocated
File location and size: 80.00Gb
Shared Clipboard and Drag'n'Drop: Bidirectional
Boot Order: 1. Hard Disk 2. Optical
Processors: 2
Video Memory: 128
I've been following this Kali guide www(dot)kali(dot)org/docs/virtualization/install-virtualbox-guest-vm/ to set up Kali inside Virtualbox.
After setting the guest settings it tells me to select "Add" from the pop up Optical Disk Selector to navigate to the Kali ISO file. This is as far as I get, until Virtualbox crashes and sends me a problem report. Show log gives me "no log files found." I've attached the error message I receive, rebooting and reinstalling hasn't helped.
The first time I installed Virtualbox I had to go to System Preferences > Security > General and allow oracle to install kernel extensions, but since then I didn't get prompted to do so.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: Virtualbox 6.1.18 crashes when adding Disk Image (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)
@cdott, there are some possible workarounds mentioned in recent related threads such as:
{E.g., one alternative way of adding a disk-image / ISO file to a VM's config is via: 'Settings' > 'Storage' pane => In the 'Storage Devices' list {on the left}, click the 'Empty' blue disc => In the 'Attributes' section {on the right}, click the little blue disc button/menu {adjacent to the 'Optical Drive:' popup menu} => Click the 'Choose a disk file…' menu-item.}
- Virtualbox won't let me open the finder to add the ISO file for Ubuntu installation

@cdott, I'm glad that an 'alternative way of adding' workaround was successful for you too.
