Figuring out what network adapter to mount for Arch Linux

Post by Fios »

Hello! I just got arch linux and im setting it up.. now whenever I try to setup my wireless it says I have no wireless extensions when I run iwconfig.. now um here are the 4 adapters that I can choose in the Vbox window for my Virtual OS.. which one is the one I need?

1.PCNet-PCI II (AM79C970A)
2.PCNET-FAST III (AM79C973)
*This is my currently mounted Adapter, Attached to Host Interface under en0 Built-in ethernet.. this is what I used for wired internet
3.INTEL PRO/MT 1000 Desktop (82540EM)
4.INTEL PRO/T 1000 Server (82543GC)

Ive installed Wireless_tools on Arch Linux.. should I run iwconfig on my Mac to get the required wireless information?

Wireless extensions are not passed to the guest. You have to setup your wireless card at the host.
