Hello, I proceeded to upgrade to 7.0.6 on MacOS. As usual, the installation went well, and I agreed to erase the previous version. Then, I wanted to start Virtual Box, but I got stuck because my MacOS was now too old and Virtual Box would not run. Bummer! The old version was gone! And, there was no warning before I proceeded to upgrade about the problem with the version of my MacOS.
THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.
How do I go back to the previous version?

The facetious answer is that you should restore from your backup.
Alternatively:
1. Mount your 7.0.6 install dmg and run the uninstall script in the distribution.
2. Download the version you wish to install from https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Download_Old_Builds
3. Install it.
4. Update your backup
