VM attempts to open for 8-10 seconds and I can see the desktop of the VM then I get this:

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine TOSHIBA.

Unsupported version 6 of data unit 'hda' (instance #0, pass 0xffffffff) (VERR_SSM_UNSUPPORTED_DATA_UNIT_VERSION).

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: ConsoleWrap
Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}

Searching the site using Google shows a number of discussions of people seeing the error code VERR_SSM_UNSUPPORTED_DATA_UNIT_VERSION. Typically they have occurred when the version of VirtualBox has been upgraded when a guest has been is a saved state rather than shutdown. Is that something you have done?

You may need to discard the saved state before restarting the guest.
