Running Ubuntu Budgie 20.04.1. Virtualbox 6.1.12. OS is fully updated.
The main window of virtualbox as well as any virtual machine I try to run results in a window that rarely updates. Resizing a window results in the window frame being repeated over and over again. None of my other applications are doing this. Occasionally resizing the windows will get it to redraw correctly, and I can see that the virtual machine is actually running just fine. It's just the application GUI not cooperating.
Is there anything I can try to fix this behavior?

Re: GUI not properly redrawing
Hello, I have exactly the same issue
I am running Ubuntu 20.04.1 x86_64 and I have Virtualbox 6.1.16_Ubuntu r140961 Qt5.12.8
Extensions:

Resizing the windows (Manager or guest VM) will result in a bad redrawing effect and the mousse cursor won't be detected and will not hovers over element anymore, I won't be able to click. I can see that the guest VM is actually running because I can connect via ssh.
Guest VM windows, with or without guest addition, have the same issues.
any ideas ?

Re: GUI not properly redrawing
Smells like a problem with the host graphics driver or renderer. It can't be systemic (to VirtualBox) because then everyone else would see the same thing.

Re: GUI not properly redrawing
I find a solution to my problem,
like @mpack said it was not a systemic issue from VB, it my case it was also not graphics driver renderer (I try to switch between NVIDIA proprietary driver and Nouveau) but I got the same issue with both.
The graphical bug disappear for me, when I deactivate the "Fractional Scaling" from Display settings in Ubuntu 20.04.1.
So problem solved, and I am glad to be able to use VB again.
Thx to @mpack for the reply that put me in the right direction.
