Virtual Machine Fails to Open

Post by naila »

Hello,

My host computer is a linux OS (Ubuntu 18.04 64-bit) and my VM OS is Centos7.
I have guest additions (VBoxGuestAdditions.iso) attached to my virtual machine (ParaVision).

I've been using my virtual machine (ParaVision) without any problems for a few months.
Today, after not opening VirtualBox for a couple weeks, I was unable to open VirtualBox. So, I removed VirtualBox (version 5.2) with the command: sudo apt-get remove virtualbox\*.
Then, I installed VB version 6.1. My VirtualBox now opens, however I cannot open my Virtual Machine (Paravision).
After looking online, I tried this command: sudo apt install virtualbox-dkms, and then restarted my host computer, but that didn't work (I could no longer open my VirtualBox).

This is the error message that I get:
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine ParaVision.
The virtual machine 'ParaVision' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1 (0x1).
Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: MachineWrap
Interface: IMachine {85632c68-b5bb-4316-a900-5eb28d3413df}

I've attached the log files.
Any insight/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you very much,
Naila
