Shared folder not showing

Host: Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon
Guest: Linux Mint 19.1 Mate
I installed Guest Additions. In fact, I think I installed it twice. In other words, I thought that I had installed it, but then it seemed that it wasn't installed (bidirectional clipboard was not working) so I installed it again. But, my memory could be off on that, as I got sidetracked/ ran into difficulties and became unmotivated.
The bidirectional clipboard is working.
However, when I created a folder on the host machine in "Documents" and share it (using the settings in VirtualBox), that folder does not show up on the guest machine. I checked the desktop and I checked /media. I did add my Linux guest user to the needed group.
I have a folder in the same directory on the host computer, that I successfully share on a windows guest machine.
