[solved] virtualbox interface looks like old gtk

Post by reptile »

I just installed vb onto my new gutsy gibbon ubuntu partition and when i run the program it no longer has that nice sexy gui. It looks a bit like the old style gtk. i presume it can be fixed. any ideas?

Yes, I think, it can be upgraded eventually to Qt4 or even better to KDE4 platform, but I think this is not the highest priority, not for me, and not for the company.

For me, a very serious factor would be stabilizing VirtualBox, so that it can run a broader range of x86 guest OSes.

There must be a reason it doesn't look the same anymore?

Ok the problem is with the new ubuntu alpha. I installed all the QT 3 components and then went to theme editor and fixed up the look and feel of VB.

Still doesn't look as great as it did but a spectacular improvement.
