[Resolved] Oracle VirtualBox is not responding

Hi.
Next I explain my problem.
I usually keep the host (Linux Mint) updated to the latest version, including the kernel, and for some months I have problems with the latest versions of VirtualBox, which I update from the official repository.
What happens is that the Windows 7 virtual machine is frozen, and then VirtualBox is also frozen, a window appears in which the host (Linux Mint) indicates that "Oracle VirtualBox is not responding", so it gives me the options of waiting or forcing the closure.
When I force the closure and reopen VirtualBox, the Windows 7 virtual machine appears as aborted. If I start it again it does it without problems, after indicating that the last closure was not adequate, but it freezes again after a few minutes.
There are times when the freeze is at the beginning, when I try to enter the password, and other times when I use an application (Word, Excel ... etc.).
What I do is fix it using an earlier version of VirtualBox (I usually have to go back to "5.2.30-130521 ~ Ubuntu ~ bionic"), and the host kernel (Linux Mint) left it in the latest version. But when I tried to upgrade to the latest version of VirtualBox, I was given the same error again, with different versions.
I copy below the information about the context, and attached the file with the log:
Thank you in advance.

Try to simplify your setup to the bare minimum required.

Can you remove the Shared Folders? Even if temporarily? 6.0.10 has been having some issues with the Shared Folders. And I'm not particularly fond of external drives that are being shared, there can be potential issues if the host decides to get the ext. drives into power-saving mode.

Can you try something smaller and more "standard"? Like a 1280x800 (or something close to that), from within the guest? Not from the host (View menu) or by dragging the VM window, but from the Control Panel of your Win7-64 guest.

This is when the "freeze" happened. Nothing in the logs, not a beep. But it's funny that the logging stopped at that point, no statistics, no shutdown messages, nothing. Did you grab the log before the VM was completely shutdown? If you did, the next time you grab a log make sure that the VM is completely shutdown.

PS. For future reference you should ZIP your logs. It helps you, it helps us, it helps the server, it helps save a (virtual) tree or two... ;)

Thank you for this very useful information.
I need time to try it, because to start I have to change from version 5.2.32 to 6.0.10 from the repositories.
As soon as I have a hole I will try it and say something around here.
Thanks again.

Finally it seems that it has been fixed.

I have been using Office 2007 for several days, in a Windows 7 virtual machine with the latest version of VirtualBox in the repositories: 6.0.10. I made the most basic configuration changes indicated by 'socratis', and on the other hand I realized something that I explained at the end.
Go to VM Settings » Display » Remote Display » Enable Server: uncheck that.
Done.
Intel GPUs have been know to cause issues with VirtualBox, they're not the most powerful in the market and their drivers aren't being used as an example...
I understand that it refers to the host graphic. I use the integrated in motherboard. I can't solve this, unless I install an additional graphics card other than Intel. For now I will leave it as it is, in case this is not the problem.
Your VM is called "MV_W7-64b (NoBorrar)", yet your VDI isn't named the same. That tells me that you created a VM and you attached an existing VDI. Could you tell me what happened?
I simply added the text '(NoBorrar)' to the name of the machine, but the VDI is the same one I connected to it at source. I don't think this is the problem. I leave it as it is.
Go to the VM Settings » Storage » select your SATA controller » Use Host I/O Cache: enable that.
Done.
Windows 7 doesn't have native support for USB3. Have you installed the Intel drivers?
The fact is that since I updated to the versions of VirtualBox after 6.0, in addition to the problem of freezing, when I pass a USB 3.0 to the W7 guest it indicates that it does not support it, and will treat it as 2.0. I did not give importance because it worked, and the problem of freezing is more serious. Anyway, with the version 5.2.32 of Virtualbox does not give problems with USB3.0. It is also true that I have not done any speed tests, and I might be treating it as 2.0 without warning.
I checked in the list of applications installed on W7, that the Microsoft USB3.0 driver is already installed. It is the same as the name of the installation package that is downloaded from the Microsoft website ("Intel (R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver").
Can you remove the Shared Folders? Even if temporarily? 6.0.10 has been having some issues with the Shared Folders. And I'm not particularly fond of external drives that are being shared, there can be potential issues if the host decides to get the ext. drives into power-saving mode.
They are disks connected by SATA to the same host board, so I don't consider them external drives. Anyway, I will try to disconnect them also to see if it is the problem.
Can you try something smaller and more "standard"? Like a 1280x800 (or something close to that), from within the guest? Not from the host (View menu) or by dragging the VM window, but from the Control Panel of your Win7-64 guest.
When I check the resolution of the W7 guest, when it is full screen it is indeed 1680x947. There are some more options, but none is normal 1280x800 type. Anyway, I have the virtual machine window in 'Auto resize' mode. This causes the screen resolution to change when I change the size of the window that contains it. I guess it's not the problem, because I think it's the one used by default. I leave it as is.
Did you grab the log before the VM was completely shutdown? If you did, the next time you grab a log make sure that the VM is completely shutdown.
I did it when it froze ... that is, since the MV did not respond I had to force the shutdown from VB. Then VB was blocked too. I guess that's why he couldn't include new messages in the log.

Finally, in addition to thanking 'socratis', I wanted to explain what was the mistake I think I made, because it is quite silly.
When installing the new version of the Guest Additions in the virtual machine, before doing so I uninstalled the old version. I also did it with an application, which I usually use on Windows, which uninstalls the applications in depth: "Revo Uninstaller".
I think that was the error, because you can install the new version of the Guest Additions without uninstalling the previous version, and when finished only the new version appears in the list of installed programs.
Thank you for everything and I close the subject.

Excuse me, but I can find how close the topic. I consider it solved now.
