[Resolved] Oracle VirtualBox is not responding
Posted: 21. Aug 2019, 13:52
Hi.
Next I explain my problem.
I usually keep the host (Linux Mint) updated to the latest version, including the kernel, and for some months I have problems with the latest versions of VirtualBox, which I update from the official repository.
What happens is that the Windows 7 virtual machine is frozen, and then VirtualBox is also frozen, a window appears in which the host (Linux Mint) indicates that "Oracle VirtualBox is not responding", so it gives me the options of waiting or forcing the closure.
When I force the closure and reopen VirtualBox, the Windows 7 virtual machine appears as aborted. If I start it again it does it without problems, after indicating that the last closure was not adequate, but it freezes again after a few minutes.
There are times when the freeze is at the beginning, when I try to enter the password, and other times when I use an application (Word, Excel ... etc.).
What I do is fix it using an earlier version of VirtualBox (I usually have to go back to "5.2.30-130521 ~ Ubuntu ~ bionic"), and the host kernel (Linux Mint) left it in the latest version. But when I tried to upgrade to the latest version of VirtualBox, I was given the same error again, with different versions.
I copy below the information about the context, and attached the file with the log:
Thank you in advance.
VirtualBox version: 6.0.10 r132072 (Qt5.9.5) - 6.0.10-132072~Ubuntu~bionic
Host: Linux Mint 19 (Tara) - 16GB - 64b
Guest: Windows 7 - 4GB - 64b
