How to connect Android(fastboot mode) to VirtualBox(Windows 7 x64)

Post by CW4vFH »

Hi,

Only Fedora 30 is installed in my computer, I'm running Windows 7 x64 in VirtualBox as a guest OS.

I need to unlock my Android device via a software which is provided by Xiao Mi. But this software is exe format, I have to use it in VirtualBox.

I reboot my Android device to fastboot mode, connect to my computer via USB. I can see 'Google Android [0100]' in the VirtualBox menu 'Devices -> USB'. When I click this item 'Google Android [0100]', a error message occurs: failed to created a proxy device for the usb device.

I have no idea ... The type of USB of my phone and my computer both are USB 2.0.

Any advice?

Have a read of section 12.8.7 of the user manual. And if you need to continue the discussion then I need to see a VM log.

Hi,

I'm very sure that my account is a member of the vboxusers group.

# groups my-account | grep vboxusers
my-account : my-account wheel input wireshark vboxusers pkg-build

Yes, I want to continue to discuss.

Those are useless logs, I'll delete them.

Hi,

Those logs are part of the whole logs. Can this help you?

No, pasted partial logs are not useful. I expected you to provide a zipped attachment, as you've no doubt seen every other poster do.

Make sure the guest has finished booting up before you plug in the USB device.

Create a specific USB filter in the VM settings to capture the USB device.

IME in combination this is far more reliable than "live capture", since from the moment the device is plugged in, it gets grabbed by the VM.
