USB freezes both the guest and the host

USB freezes both the guest and the host when Skype tries to use my USB headset. The guest works fine with the headset connected. The freeze only happens when Skype tries to use it. Both the host and the guest are frozen - the mouse doesn't move, the time in the system tray doesn't change, and the caps lock key does not change the status of caps lock.

My research indicated possible IRQ conflicts, but I can't figure out how to change IRQs in VBox.
