Use VB6 alongside Qemu on Ubuntu ?

Post by NexusPenguin »

Hi guys,

Currently, I am running UBUNTU Budgie 18.04 on a Dual-Xeon (28c/56t) with 96GB of RAM and plenty of storage space.

The system is used partly as a server, and one of the users connects to the computer to access a VM taht runs inside Qemu Virtul Manager.

I would like try to run Windows 10 inside of VirtualBox to test the new VB 6.0.

But I am unable to use VB6 alongside QEmu.
If VB6 is running and I try to launch QEmu, I get a "KVM" error (busy or already in use).
If QEmu is running and I try to launch VB6 I get a "Critical" error.

Any way to run both emulation/virtualization side-by-side ?

If not, so be it... I'll stick to another VM software to run Windows.

Thanks for your answers.

Regards.

Until everybody starts to use the VT-x capabilities of the hardware in a co-operative manner and not take an exclusive hold if it then the answer is no.

KVM used to do that. But they pulled a "Hyper-V" for performance reasons most probably...
