looks like something is broken in 8.1 r2, they added wifi emulation via ethernet and it just doesn't seem to work.

Any news on this? Was under the impression bridged mode would work like it does with OpenBSD or Debian

Turns out I just had to enable wifi in addition to my existing bridged mode. Problem solved!
