Things were working fine until the latest system update.
Now 'vboxdrv' is no where to be found.
I have reinstalled everything VirtualBox & additional linux-headers-generic.
Nothing works!
I am running VBox 5.1.3.4 since I abhor the new interface.
Like I said things were working fine until the kernel update.
So much for virtualization...
I have a half dozen VM's I can no longer access.
I was planning on testing other OS's & different flavors of Linux but that is not going to happen.
attached is the reinstall I performed

Re: VirtualBox Quit Working
It looks like you are running the Ubuntu fork of VirtualBox. We have no idea what changes they have made and so we have no idea what support to offer.
You should purge your system of the Ubuntu VirtualBox packages and install the latest version from the Downloads page. If you want to stick with the 5.1.x versions then the current version (as of writing this) is 5.1.38. You may just have to "suck it up" about the user interface as only 5.2 is officially supported now.

My crystal ball is currently broken. If you want assistance you are going to have to give me all of the necessary information.
Please don't ask me to do your homework for you, I have more than enough of my own things to do.

Re: VirtualBox Quit Working
I guess the solution I need is what kernel worked with vbox 5.1.34 ?
Then I can revert to that kernel.
Then I can revert to that kernel.

Re: VirtualBox Quit Working
If you want to use the latest version for your host/guests, you should also consider doing the same for VirtualBox. Download the latest VirtualBox. As of this writing, that would be version 5.2.14. If that doesn't work you should try the latest test builds, especially with all the Spectre/Meltdown patches coming in from all sides.
BTW, 5.1.x has entered the "Unsupported" state, so go with 5.2.x...

FIXED!
see this:
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic. ... 6#p1491936
Apparently the latest kernel 4.15.0-24 is having issues.
