Re: Kali Linux 2018.2 32bit critical error
It looks like you're using the distro's fork version of VirtualBox. You can either ask in their forums for help, or completely remove/uninstall/delete/purge their version and install the official version from the Downloads section of VirtualBox.VirtualBox VM 5.2.10_Ubuntu r121806 linux.amd64 (Apr 26 2018 08:49:04) release log
BTW, I don't see a "critical error" in the log. Where did you see that, and are you sure it's a VirtualBox error, and not a Kali error?

Re: Kali Linux 2018.2 32bit critical error
Answer of Where I had seen that: While booting up kali (when I pressed Graphic install button V box went black screen and there was this message in a dialog box from V box Guru "A critical error has occurred while running virtual box and the machine execution has stopped." )
Whenever I turn on PAE/NX mode in Processor tab . V Box always shows this message.
When I turn off PAE/NX . It shows this message "This kernel requires the following features not present on the CPU: pae
Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU. "
I have completely removed their(previous) version and installed the official version from the Downloads section of Virtual Box as u mentioned.
Still the same error message pops up when I enable PAE/NX
My new log file is attached below as a zip file.
Besides, There is no problem with Kali as I have run it live on my System (Not in virtual environment).

Re: Kali Linux 2018.2 32bit critical error
Aha! Your log now actually contains the error! Now, we know what you were talking about.
Unfortunately, your Pentium E2140 does not support VT-x. So, you can't run this VM as is. Your best bet would be to try something from the 4.3.x series, the 5.0.x series or the 5.1.x series.
The higher the VirtualBox version, the more dependent it is on the existence of VT-x, as the "raw mode" will be getting phased out over time.
This is the error that you're getting.00:00:29.799383 !! VCPU0: Guru Meditation -2403 (VERR_TRPM_DONT_PANIC)
And this is "why" you're getting that error. You will need to address/fix the VT-x availability.00:00:01.389381 HM: HMR3Init: Falling back to raw-mode: VT-x is not available 00:00:01.900365 Full Name: "Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2140 @ 1.60GHz"

Re: Kali Linux 2018.2 32bit critical error
Thank U so much for clearing my doubt.
As I am using Lubuntu 18.04 and I don't see any Linux(UBUNTU) download of 18.04 (BIONIC BEAVER) under the 4.3.x series or the 5.0.x series
Should I give 5.1.x a try?
Besides if the same error pops up again should I consider that I should get myself a new CPU who has VT-x available?

Re: Kali Linux 2018.2 32bit critical error
I seriously doubt that you're going to be successful with 4.3.x, 5.0.x or 5.1.x. You can't be running the latest and greatest host (Ubuntu 18.04) with the latest and greatest guest (Kali 2018.2) with a CPU from 11 years ago (Q2'07)! Doesn't compute...World_XX wrote:Should I give 5.1.x a try?
Yes, definitely. Something from this decade, best if within the last 2-3 years, if you want it to last...World_XX wrote:should I consider that I should get myself a new CPU who has VT-x available?

Re: Kali Linux 2018.2 32bit critical error
Thnx for helping me out. Yeah I know my PC is very old.
I will buy a Laptop. I had not decided really which would be best for Virtual environment support.
I list my choices:
1)HP 15 Core i5 8th Gen - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/DOS) 15-BS145TU Laptop
2)Lenovo Core i5 7th Gen - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/DOS/2 GB Graphics) IP 320E Laptop
3)Dell Vostro 3000 Core i5 7th Gen - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/Ubuntu/2 GB Graphics) 3568 Laptop
Hopefully all these have VT-x enabled.
Plz suggest one which would be better if I run HOST OS as LUBUNTU 18.04 and many Guests OS (Latest versions like Kali 2018.2, Manjaro, etc)

Re: Kali Linux 2018.2 32bit critical error
1) would probably be best, because the i5 8th gen is a real quadcore CPU
