Resize window, Detach GUI, then Show GUI - Always resizes

Post by JSA »

How can I get a Virtual Box's Window to stay the same size each time I click the SHOW button?

If running detached or headless, I have to resize the window each time I SHOW it.
Then If I detach, or save state, or shut down, the VM insists on resizing the window (to something way too small) the next time I click the Show button.

The thing is, it briefly shows up the proper size after having been detached, then it arbitrarily resizes. Why does it resize each time it is displayed?

Turn off Auto-Resize Guest you say?
But then if I intentionally drag the window to a different size I get scroll bars, and cut off screen, or wasted space around the window. In order to make it fit, I have to press Host+A, let it adjust to the new window size.

If I Save State, why does it restart at a smaller/larger size next time? I saved it the way I want it, why won't it honor that size upon restore state? Why is there an arbitrary Resize to a DIFFERENT size than the one last saved?
