Hello
When I start Virtualbox my guests have 2048MB of memory assigned as set when I was installing it. Now I want to lover it to 1024mb. But when I do it, after the next start of the VirtualBox the memory allocation is back to 2048mb. Is that feature or is there a way how I can change it forever so I dont need to change it everytime I start Virtualbox?
thank you
Virtualbox 5.2.6

Re: memory keeps reverting to old setting
It probably means that the .vbox file (where settings are saved) is write protected, perhaps because you copied it on CD from somewhere.
Alternatively, it's a permissions problem: your user doesn't have write permission in the VM folder.

thank you
after changing the permission on the folder "VirtualBox VMs" under which are config files for each of the VM machines, it started to work.
