VB 5.2.10 keyboard mapping problem

Post by pyronina »

Hi - I am totally new to VirtualBox. I have just installed rel 5.2.10 on my Oracle Lunix 6 server. I hit NEW to CREATE A VM, but when I went to type in the NAME:______ The keys I was typing do not match what is appearing on the screen. Typing" asdf shows up as: 2y57 for example. What's up? Keyboard mapping problem? :x

Yes. Check your keyboard layout. *Always* install the US keyboard in your OS. As your primary input method. Your local should be an option. I do the same on all my hosts/guests. First the US, then the Greek, Greek polytonic, Unicode.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
