[Resolved] Guest VM Kernel Panic and

Post by mdecker77 »

Dear Community,

in latest version (5.2.10) on Linux Host (Oracle Linux 7.5) I am experiencing kernel panics of LInux Guest VM (Oracle Linux 6U9) with these messages in VBox.log.

07:33:22.122183 AHCI#0: Port 3 reset
07:34:17.090544 AHCI#0: Port 2 reset
07:34:19.118368 AHCI#0: Port 1 reset
07:34:36.336915 AHCI#0: Port 0 reset

Any ideas?

Storage is a Samsung T3 Portable USB SSD. I am moving VM to pyhsical disk for testing now.

Regards,
Martin

Is the guest kernel panicking? The host? Both?

Partial logs are not that helpful I'm afraid. Please ZIP and attach the full log. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.

Only the guest VM panics. I found that disabling smartd on Host is solving the issue.
