I can't share/use USB devices!

Post by horizonbrave »

Hi,
I'm a newbie. I'm using VirtualBox 5.2.8 on Linux (Ubuntu) for running a machine with Windows 10.
Installation of the guest goes fine, including the extension pack and guest additions on the machine itself.
But for some reason I can't manage to see a usb 3.0 thumb drive connected to the USB port of my Laption (Dell E6530).
I follow the instructions.. which are:
- configure the USB settings for the machine to 3.0
- tried also to set it as 2.0 as a second attempt
- start the machine
- connect the USB drive
- go to Device > USB
But nothing shows up!

I tried after connecting the drive to eject it from Nautilus as well.. but NO.
I tried several times, after reboots and updates (of both win 10 and Ubuntu).

Any suggestion please?? :)
