Yeah, happy fedora user with kernel, which does only allow signed kernel modules.

Probably a difference in host OS configuration between the two platforms possibly as a result of BIOS/UEFI differences. What does...

Maybe the modules are signed, or the system is configured to allow not-signed modules?
I don't know or use fedora or any other distro with signed kernel.

I only have the new system. The old one is broken some days ago.
Result is
mokutil --sb-state
SecureBoot enabled
