I've recently installed Vbox version 5.2.4 on a Debian 9.3 system, and installed Security Onion as a guest ontop of that. While I am able to access most websites from Securityonion, for whatever reason I cannot access Ubuntu(DOT)com (which prevents me from updating the SecurityOnion guest) when using bridged mode. This is odd because my host system CAN access ubuntu(DOT)com, for this reason I've been forced to use NAT mode which unfortunately doesn't work for the purposes of the lab I'm trying to build.
Does anyone know why some website would be severly throttled to the point of being unusable while others work fine?
