VirtualBox on Debian Install

Hi I hope this is in the right place.
I have little knowlege yet of depackage command on Linux(debian)
I have used stretch and KDE.

I have download the debian package X64 and am trying to install it, I get the following output.

Please install the Linux kernel "header" files matching the current kernel

There were problems setting up VirtualBox.  To re-start the set-up process, run
  /sbin/vboxconfig
as root.

as indicating above when I try running virtualbos in sbin it does not work(resulting in a loop asking for root password)

Read carefully and follow the instructions of the error message. It's all there...

Iam but a novice the thought of toying with the kernel fills me with dread iam only staring out.
How does one even find out what the kernel version is and as far as compiling drivers for it.
oooowwwwwww I will find out I guess, Nevermind thats what the windows partitioin is for running virtual machines.
If one could be helpfull in a constructive way that would be nice.
