v5.2.2 Shared Clipboard on Windows MS-Edge not working
Posted: 27. Nov 2017, 11:31
Host: CentOS7 64-bit 3.10.0-693.2.2.el7.x86_64
VBox: Virtual 5.2.2r119230 (updated 2017/11/24)
Host: Windows 10 Edge (VBox Image MSEdge on Win10 (x64) Stable (16.16299) ; Source: developer dot microsoft dot com /en-us/ microsoft-edge/tools/vms/
RemoteBox: Version 2.4 (most recent)
Shared Clipboard used to work perfectly until recently. I've also checked a number of forums and reinstalled several versions (including 5.2.1 interim VBox-extpack) and went through all the generics of disabling, reinstalling and reloading most recent versions.
After a specific Kernel update or VirtualBox update, the shared clipboard functionality stopped working. With this the vbox-web service also failed to autostart but after removing VirtualBox5.1 and reinstalling this seem to be resolved.
Text-based copy & paste works, but when trying to copy & paste files over Oracle VRDP Extension pack interface the shared-clipboard just doesn't seem to action.
I've tried a previous kernel, other guest additions ISO files but cannot get it to work again.
VRDP works (ports 3394 - 3300) for specific hosts, have 2x Windows guests, 1x ubunto & 1x OpenWrt. Loaded Guest additions to Windows images only.
See attached zip file with details.
