[solved] XP mode on a WIN 7 pro guest

Post by Franz53 »

Hi,
I have a WIN 7 pro 32 on a Linux Mint 18.2 Host (last version of VM Virtuale Box [5.1.28] and guest addiction).
Works fine. I'm trying to use XP mode on the wirtual win-7 machine but the installation stops and Wirtual Box hangs.

I immagine there is some incompatibility and I ask you the confirm that the problem is known.

Thanks for any reply

That would be nested virtualization (a VM inside a VM) which is not supported at the moment. XP Mode is a VM inside a Win7 system.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
