Mapping 8 of the same HID usb devices - 1 for each VM

Post by Satorisage »

Hello all,

I am attempting to map 8 usb devices, 1 device to each VM. Since these devices do not have a serial number, the only unique identifier, is the "Address" listed in vboxmanage list usbhost, and also, the Bus and Device numbers listed when running lsusb. Is there a way to use either of these and set up a filter for my VMs?

I have tried everything I can think of here.. and in Settings -> USB -> edit filter, there isn't an option that is unique enough besides "Serial Number" and these devices do not have one.

Thanks in advance for the help.

No, unfortunately you can't. If you could, it would be in the filter properties dialog.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
