Lubuntu guest on a BTRFS

Post by steve723 »

Can I install Lbuntu 17.04 on a BTRFS VM? Anything I need to do to configure VB to handle this?

Since no one has answered yet, then I guess I'll just try it. If it don't work then at least my main system won't get hosed again.

The question was a little vague to me. The format has little effect on how the guest runs in VirtualBox, but if you are asking if you can install a guest in a guest ( nesting ) then that is not supported. It might work but not if it is 64-bit due to the limitations of no hardware virtualization being passed through to the guest.

I thought it was clear. I am not sure why you think it's vague.
Can a VM with the 'butter file system' BTRFS be installed in Virtualbox?

The vague part to me was the question, and as I said the format you use for any guest has little effect to VirtualBox. Installing on a **** guest has a different meaning.

VirtualBox provides the container for an OS ( hard drive ) and what you use is up to you and the OS.
