Re: Installation issues-----Virtual Box on Kali
You need to figure out why these packages are not installable. Bad repository, network connection, Etc. This is really a host issue though so you need to ask them.

Re: Installation issues-----Virtual Box on Kali
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm kinda new to linux and have Kali as my host on a spare laptop that i had lying around. Picked this up to try out some pen testing stuff. Id really like to get Virtual Box setup properly so I dont have to risk messing up my Kali. OK, So I got past the install, however when I run VBox. I get this message.
.....................................................................
Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)
The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is either not loaded or there is a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv. Please reinstall virtualbox-dkms package and load the kernel module by executing
'modprobe vboxdrv'
as root.
where: suplibOsInit what: 3 VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED (-1908) - The support driver is not installed. On linux, open returned ENOENT.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I then followed the instructions to reinstall virtualbox-dkms and when I try to load the kernel module as root it tells me the directory doesnt exist.
How can i fix this one?

Re: Installation issues-----Virtual Box on Kali
I got if from virtual box's website.
file name is /root/Downloads/virtualbox-5.1_5.1.14-112924~Debian~stretch_amd64.deb
I run Kali as my host and since its Debian based I figured to go with that. I havent found much documentation on getting VBox on Kali.
Are you aware of any good tutorials or youtube videos?

Re: Installation issues-----Virtual Box on Kali
I see you are logging in as root and I do not help users that do that. You can do it but since VirtualBox was not intended to work that way you have to jump through some hoops to get it to work. Maybe someone that does help a user run an unsecured host will drop by and help. Good luck.

That's standard on Kali Linux.I see you are logging in as root and I do not help users that do that.
