Office2007 doesn't like shared folders

Post by HWJ »

Hi,
I've WinXP as guest under Linux, where I run Word2007.
The shared folder is available as drive E:
I can read and write files with some utilites on E:
but when I try to save a file from within Word2007 on E:
it just doesn't do it or even crashes.

Is this a know 'feature' or bug?

Many thanks for a hint,
Helmut.

I found that the Shared Folders feature does not work at all with some programmes. Seems like it is a bit hit and miss in that respect.

Some problems could be by-passed by saving as .pdf within Guest System, copying (if necessary) to shared folder and printing, saving or further processing from there.
