Mouse click lost after a while
I have a VBox system which looses all mouse clicks in guest, after working perfectly for a while.
Host is CentOS-6.8
Guest is Windoze-7
VBox is 5.1.14
Using latest extension pack and guest additions.
Memory Check has completed successfully.
DnD is disabled. Maybe I should enable DnD and see whether pain persists ?
Guest is running fullscreen with dual monitors. Mouse clicks become absent from guest OS on both monitors, but pointer can move across screens as normal.
When the mouse click is lost, only lost from the guest OS. Mouse still works in host.
I was also thinking the mouse is a USB device.
So I tried each of the USB 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 controllers. Same problem in all.
I've searched in the VBox.log on the host, but there's no entries around the time of failure.
I've tried without any USB Device filters.
I've tried enabling separate USB Device filter for keyboard, mouse, and label printer.
Some possibly relevant notes linked here so I can find 'em again later.

Grateful for any tips or clues.

Re: Mouse click lost after a while
*Bump*
This is driving me nuts.
Thinking about maybe trying a different version of VB.
Any suggestions welcome.

Re: Mouse click lost after a while
I am having the same problem too. I am running Ubuntu 16.04 host and Windows 10 guest. I think it may be related to multiple monitors since I did not encounter this until I started using a second monitor a week ago.
Re: Mouse click lost after a while
I am not sure my issue was related to VirtualBox. After only a few minutes of uptime the display manager would malfunction and I could no longer move or resize windows. If I clicked a tab in chrome it would close it and if I clicked the back button it would open a new tab. I was unable to click anywhere in any of the application windows to get focus. Surprisingly I could still click on the task bar and the settings button was fully functional. I am running an AMD R480 with the binary GPUPRO driver so I decided to upgrade to Ubuntu 16.10 and the latest VirtualBox test build.
Neither of these upgrades solved my problem and I was still not able to perform window management after a few minutes even when VirtualBox was not running. I thought the issue was certainly with the display manager because when I restarted the lightdm init.d script the issue momentarily cleared up. Desperate for a solution I switched to a hardware fix and replaced the batteries in my mouse, even though the low power LED was not lit, and I swapped a DVI cable for a DisplayPort cable so both monitors were using DisplayPort. One of those changes seemed to fix the issue because I have been running VirtualBox for the last 10 hours with no issues at all.
Your issue may be related to ticket #14743

Re: Mouse click lost after a while
I might have the same or a similar issue.
Sometimes the mouse stops working properly.
Host Fedora 25 64 bit, VBox 5.1.22 (but happened before as well)
GNOME on wayland
Guest Windows 10
The mouse click stops working properly.
Pointer still moves but the click seems to work only on the window frames, not on buttons, menu items etc...
I can use the mouse to change app, but further clicks do not work.
Closing the guest (with the help of the keyboard) fixes it till next time.

Re: Mouse click lost after a while
Yes, this problem remains an irritant. Happening on more than one host, so its not isolated.
Re: Mouse click lost after a while
Does stopping the process VBoxTray in the guest system make any difference?
Re: Mouse click lost after a while
I have the same thing happening with windows 10 host, and unbuntu 16 guest.
After a while I lose all clicks :(

Re: Mouse click lost after a while
It has been 1.5 years now and the problem still persists.
Re: Mouse click lost after a while
Did anyone file a bug? (Can't find any bugs filed related to this, but maybe it's just me.)

Yes, it's just you, because most probably you didn't read the thread from the beginning. Read the first post again...Segfault wrote:but maybe it's just me

Segfault,
If you're talking about paid customers, then you're probably right, none of them must see the problem. And it's not a widespread problem, I can tell you that much. The age of an issue has absolutely no weight in how much attention it gets. It's a non-factor...
