VBox does not allow 64bit machines on a 64bit Ubuntu system

Post by Arvienne »

Hi,
I have installed VirtualBox 15.0.14 (64 bit) on my new laptop (Core i5, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bit) but VirtualBox does not allow me to create a 64 bit Windows7 machine, it's all restricted to 32 bit machines only.
Can you please help me to extend to 64 bit?
Strange enough, on my personal computer (also Core i5, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 Bit) I was able to successfully install a 64bit Windows 7 guest in VirtualBox 15.0.14 (AMD64).

Many thanks for your help!
