I just updated my computer (Manjaro Arch Linux) just a few mins ago and tried to start up my virtual box and it wouldn't start... I'm kind of freaking out because I need Microsoft Word to do homework and I have a finished project that's due tonight, and I can't access it.

Here is the error code
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine window7VB.

The device helper structure version has changed.

If you have upgraded VirtualBox recently, please make sure you have terminated all VMs and upgraded any extension packs. If this error persists, try re-installing VirtualBox. (VERR_PDM_DEVHLPR3_VERSION_MISMATCH).

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: ConsoleWrap
Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}

I terminated all VMs before the update, and upgraded the extension packs, and I re-installed it. I even went to downgrade to a different kernel and still no luck. Please if anyone can give me some help with this, it would be most appreciated!!

I would stop thrashing around before you total the guest.

The error you are seeing usually means that the current running version of VirtualBox and the version of the Extension Pack do not match.

Verify that they do match and post the /var/log/vbox-install.log ( as an attachment ) if you still need help, as well as the version of VirtualBox and the ExtPack.

I wasn't able to find var/log/vbox-install.log so i looked into my pacman.log and this is what it shows..
[2016-01-30 13:22] [ALPM] installed virtualbox (5.0.12-1)
[2016-01-30 13:22] [ALPM] installed virtualbox-ext-oracle (5.0.14-1)

As you can see the two do not match. You will either need to find the right ExtPack or disable the USB2 in the guest for it to start.

Note: I do this only to try to help you get back to your homework. We do not support the Manjaro fork, they do, but I know their help is a little lacking so hopefully you can get back to work.

I fully understand and thank you very much for your help!! I realized that virtualbox was from the community repository and the virtualbox ext was from the Arch User repository.
