No usb found

My host is OpenSuse 42.1. My problem is illustrated below:

Solved! My original VBox was installed from an openSUSE repository. I deleted it and installed directly from virtualbox.org. After that, all worked fine. This may be cargo cult, but I expect that something was missing from the repository version that prevented it from handling usb.
