It is a tad better, as starting with VT-x with default driver doesn't instantly freeze the system. However, after a while, I see same issues as when starting without VT-x on 4.3, that basically ends with CPU1 hard lockup and then to the system completely unresponsive when also the other CPU is locked up.
I briefly tested also the KVM paravirtualization driver, and got a similar experience.
I guess for now I shall only use qemu on this baytrail
