/usr/share/virtualbox/src/vboxhost/build_in_tmp not found

Post by Mohamed_Ahm »

I am unable to run any of my VMs, virtualbox prompts me with a message saying
The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is either not loaded or there is a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv. Please reinstall the kernel module by executing

'/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
which when executed, gives the following: "Look at /var/log/vbox-install.log to find out what went wrong" and that file says:
etc/init.d/vboxdrv.dpkg-new: /usr/share/virtualbox/src/vboxhost/build_in_tmp: not found
What should I do about that?

Sorry for that, the problem is solved. I upgraded the kernel to version 3.16.0-34-geneic, I followed the first answer her http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2055886 but I found that dkms was not installed, after installing it, it built the kernel module and now the VMs are working.
